Garden Girls Discipleship
Join a 1:1 program or a group of high school girls across the country in an online community as we dive into the gardens of our hearts to recognize and weed out the specific triggers, lies and insecurities from the enemy and instead nurture our hearts with the truth that God speaks over us as his daughters.
The Heart of the Program
Growing up, I never had anyone disciple me despite how badly I wanted it and how many people I asked (who said yes and then never followed through). Now, it's a mission of mine to be that mentor for the girls that God brings in to my life.
I find that the American church tends to push behavior modification on us so we look like the perfect Christian girl on the outside but don’t have many roots in our hearts connected to a living relationship with the living God. Then when teens leave the home, the "perfect Christian girl" image isn’t so appealing in comparison to the promises of the world. Before running back to the arms of Jesus, this was my story and I don’t want it to be the story of any other sweet girls growing up in the church.
The concept of having our identity rooted in Christ is thrown around in youth group circles, but growing up, I never knew what that practically looked like in real life. My heart is for girls to not just know about God but to truly know God; to grow in intimacy with their Father so their identity isn’t tied to being a “good girl” but to being a “daughter of the King."
The Core of the Program
The Garden of Eden
The program slowly walks through the events in the Garden of Eden - reflecting on how the enemy lies to us as he did to Eve and how the Father responds to us just as he sought out Eve, covered her shame, and promised a Savior.
The Garden of Our Hearts
We also dive into the garden of our hearts. Our God is an emotional God who weeps with us and rejoices with us. Together, we recognize the way emotions are the heart's way of grabbing our attention; not to be suffocated nor to be the rulers of our lives. We learn how to respond to triggers in a way that honors both our emotions and the Lord. We allow the Father to be the Gardener, to pluck out those seeds of insecurity, to plant seeds of true identity, and to water our specific giftings so we can blossom into who he has called us to be!
The Garden in our Homes
As a visual of growth, we will all physically grow something, whether it's as crazy as experimenting with vegetables outside or as simple as keeping a succulent alive inside!
